Thousands of years ago in India and the adjoining countries the oldest advanced civilization of mankind flourished. Till nowadays many scriptures from that time written down in Sanskrit have been preserved.; they are called Vedic scriptures or Veda. There, to all aspects of human life we find timeless knowledge: science, history, medicine, architecture, yoga, philosophy, religion etc.

The goal of Vedic philosophy is knowledge of the self. In order to understand the individual in his relationship to his environment we have to understand what the individual really is; in other words, we have to answer the ancient but always actual question: Who am I?

The Bhagavad-gita, the essence of the Veda gives a clear answer to this question: We are not the material body, we are an eternal spiritual soul, a tiny fragment of God. As such we are all eternal servants of God and through him, our common father, we are all united with one another.
